FOR STUDENTS COMPETING IN THE STOCK PITCH COMPETITION (TOP 100 TEAMS, BY INVITATION ONLY)
Stock pitch submission: If you are competing in the Global Stock Pitch Competition, your presentation is due by May 20th.
Email to GYIS@yis.org. Your files should be saved like this:
STUDENTLASTNAME.FIRSTNAME.COMPANY
For example, Miles.Maria.Google
If you have a team of two, save your files like this:
STUDENTLASTNAME.TEAMMATELASTNAME.COMPANY
For example, Miles.Tobin.Google
***NOTE: You can submit your presentation in whatever format you choose (PowerPoint, PDF, etc). You can email 2 file types if you want to have a backup.
You will have a total of 15 min. for your presentation, followed by 5 min. for judges questions. Time will be strictly managed.
Here is the criteria you will be judged on for your presentation.
Additionally, if you are competing in round 1 of the stock pitch, you are also required to take a written test (multiple choice) based on the material from throughout YIS lessons. If you have a partner, you will both take the test and your scores will be averaged. You will take the test in a designated room either before or after your presentation (but definitely during the window you signed up for to compete in round 1). You must have your own technology available to take the test–either a computer or a phone.
Please see official rules for GYIS stock pitch rounds HERE.
FOR STUDENTS COMPETING IN THE BUSINESS CASE STUDY COMPETITION (Open to all interested students. Space is limited, you must register for this event on Sched.)
Please see official event rules for the case study competition HERE.
The GYIS Case Study Competition challenges students to think like professional business analysts under time pressure. Unlike the prepared Stock Pitch, this event is a live, “lockdown-style” challenge. It is designed to test quick-thinking, analytical skills, and working with new team members.
A Case Study presents a real-world business situation faced by a company, often with challenges that need solutions. Teams dissect the information provided in the case study, identify the key issues, and then craft a strategic recommendation to address them. The teams present their findings and solutions to a panel of judges, who evaluate their analysis, creativity, and communication skills.
