We are very excited to announce that at 9am ET on October 15, 2024, we will open early registration for the 2025 Global Youth Investment Summit. We will release a limited number of seats for the first round of registration.
When you register, you will secure your spot at the Summit to be held at Cornell Tech on Roosevelt Island, NYC from May 29-30, 2025. By registering, you are committing to attend. You DO NOT need to compete in the stock pitch competition in order to attend. All YIS students are invited!
The cost of early registration is $100 for individuals and $500 for a team of up to 8 students (must be from the same chapter, school or program). This early round of registration will be open until December 1 and then will close. The next round of registration will cost $200 for individuals and $800 for a team of up to 8 students. So if you register early, you save 50% on the registration cost–then you can invest what you save in the stock market!
Now is the time to talk with teachers, chaperones, parents, and caregivers to discuss the dates, travel, and costs and determine if you are ready to join us. Please register ONLY if you are committed to attending the Summit. No refunds will be issued.
See you in New York City in May!
FAQs:
How do I register?
- Early registration opens on October 15, 2024 at 9am ET. At that time, go to https://yis2025summit.sched.com/. You will need a code to access the registration page. That code will be sent by email to all registered YIS students before the Summit registration opens. Watch your email for the code! It will be easiest to register on a computer browser, rather than on a mobile device.
Is there a cap on the number of students each chapter can bring?
- No, but it is first come, first serve and each student must register individually. The only cap is on the discount. For example, if you bring 10 students, each students gets the same discount as if 8 students were coming ($500/8=62, so each student from a group of 8 or more pays $62 each).
- If you are coming with a group of students from ONE chapter, school or program, email Maria Miles (mariamiles@yis.org) BEFORE October 15 for a group code to use during checkout.
Are stock pitch winners still invited to the Summit?
- Yes! The top 100 teams will be invited to join the 3 rounds of stock pitch competition at the Summit. If you don’t register now, but qualify later, you will be able to register then.
If I to participate in the Global Stock Pitch Competition and place in the top 100, would I still need to pay to secure my spot at the Summit?
- Yes, but you will get the early registration pricing. If you want to ensure your spot no matter what happens in the stock pitch competition, register early!
If I register now, does that mean I am automatically in the Global Stock Pitch Finals at GYIS?
- No, registering now secures your spot at GYIS and allows you to participate in all the workshops, networking, case study, and other new competitions at the event. But for the Global Stock Pitch competition, you will still need to qualify to compete in the final 3 rounds of competition at the Summit.
Should we fundraise to cover the cost of registration and travel?
- Yes! This is a great opportunity to exercise your financial skills and find ways to finance this event.
What does the registration cost cover?
- The registration cost secures your spot at the Summit from May 29-30, 2025. The cost of travel and accommodations are separate and the responsibility of each participant.
Are the dates flexible? What if I have to miss AP tests/graduation/sports/etc.?
- No, these dates are set. Please consider everything in your schedule and choose what to participate in based on your priorities. Please only register for the Summit if you are committed to attending.
I registered for the Summit but now I have a conflict/changed my mind/can’t attend. Can I get a refund?
- The registration cost is non-refundable. Please do not register unless you are committed to attending.
I registered but I don’t see my schedule on the app, what’s going on?
- When you initially register, you are just reserving a spot at the Summit. At a later date, you will be able to log on and select your daily schedule for the workshops, competitions, etc.
