“My internship at Ethos Investment Management was an incredible learning experience that cemented
my passion for finance. I had the privilege of working closely with talented financial experts in a rigorous
environment unlike anything I had experienced before. From day one, I was immersed in challenging,
high-level work that pushed me to think critically and grow beyond my comfort zone.
I was assigned to research FPT Corporation, a global IT services company with a portfolio spanning digital
transformation, telecommunications, AI, and education. Analyzing a business with so many moving parts
was eye-opening and sparked my excitement for evaluating companies in emerging markets. Using the
in-depth Ethos model, I learned to break down a company into individual segments, identify growth
drivers, and model their future performance, giving me a deep appreciation for the detail that top analysts
put into every report.
Over the course of the internship, I built technical skills that will be foundational to my career. I learned
to value companies using both discounted cash flow and relative valuation models, while also gaining
insight into sector-specific analysis in industries like IT services and telecom. While I know there is much
more to learn, this experience gave me a broader understanding of the business world and how to
approach analysis with a professional mindset.
Beyond technical knowledge, this internship helped me see finance as a means of connection. Listening
to Ethos managers share stories of traveling to meet executives and conduct on-the-ground research
showed me the dynamic, global nature of this career path. The opportunity to connect with leaders
worldwide while analyzing innovative companies excites me and fuels my motivation to pursue this path.
This Ethos internship ignited my passion for uncovering the “hidden gems” of the world. I leave this
three-week journey not only with stronger technical skills, but with a clear vision: to build a career
identifying investment opportunities that shape industries and create impact on a global scale.”
