This competition is the culmination of investment skills gained during the year and provides High School students hands-on mentoring in financial analysis. Students (either individually or in teams of two) create a “best stock idea” and analyze a publicly-traded company–sometimes meeting with company management. Each student/team writes a report on their chosen company with a “Buy” or “Sell” recommendation and then presents and defends their analysis in a written report and brief to a panel of industry professionals.

Students are allowed to pitch individually or in teams of no more than 2 students.

Students can select a team member from another school or state if necessary. Both students will need to decide which State event to participate in when registering.

How it Works (Updated for 2024-2025) 

All State/Territory events will be judged via YouTube video submission of the student’s presentation. State/Territory events will be listed on the MYYIS Calendar. If a U.S. State is not listed students can register for the U.S. OPEN Stock Pitch Competition. If a country is not listed, please register for the International OPEN Stock Pitch Competition. Students who do not register for the correct event will be placed in the event for their state/region. YIS reserves the right to place students in the events that it deems appropriate.

State/Territory winners will be invited to participate in person at the Global Youth Investment Summit (a 2-day event) filled with workshops, speakers, finance games, case study competition and so much more!

How to Sign Up (Stock Pitch Registration opens February 17, 2025)

1. Log into the MYYIS Portal (sign-up for the portal if you haven’t yet).
2. Click on the calendar at the top of the page.
3. Search for the competition in your state/territory and click on participate.
4. Each team member must register individually. Cost is $25.00 per person for U.S. events (There are NO REFUNDS for non-submissions or students who choose not to participate after registering.)
5. The sign-up window closes for all competitions on April 2, 2025.

The Top 100 teams in the state/territory events will be invited to participate in the Global Youth Investment Summit in New York City in May 2024.

Students will need to be present to participate in the Global Youth Investment Summit. No Zoom video or YouTube video submissions will be accepted.

Students/Parents will need to make travel, hotel, and transportation arrangements for the team(s).

YIS Global Youth Investment Summit: May 29-30, 2025, NYC

The top 100 teams in the Global Stock Pitch Competition will be invited to compete in quarterfinals at the Global Youth Investment Summit in NYC on May 29-30. The top 24 teams then go on to a semifinal round and the final 5 teams compete in a finals round. Go here to find more information and updates about the Summit.

This event will be packed with meaningful experiences, competitions, and time to network and learn from top investing professionals. Students who hope to attend should start planning now and consider fundraising with their clubs to help make the trip possible. We can’t wait to see you there!

Stock Pitch Prep Night

YIS will host a Stock Pitch Prep Night on Zoom video where Regional Advisory Board Members and previous stock pitch judges will give advice on stock pitches, presentation tips, and answer any questions related to the event and scoring.
