Young Investors Society is excited to launch the YIS x Webull Global Portfolio Competition, sponsored by Webull, giving students around the world the opportunity to build and manage a simulated investment portfolio while gaining hands-on experience with investing.

Over the course of the competition, students will make investment decisions, track their portfolios, learn from market movements, and put their financial knowledge into practice.

But this competition isn’t just about who makes the most money. Students will have opportunities to be recognized for the highest risk-adjusted total return, highest overall total return as well as subcategories demonstrating consistency of returns, long-term investing, and effective portfolio diversification.

Best Risk-Adjusted Performance winners will get first pick of a corporate visit on May 24th, before the start of GYIS, and the following cash prizes. 

1st Place: $500
2nd Place: $250
3rd Place: $100

Rules of the Competition

• Competition will run from 9.30am EST November 2, 2026, to 4.00pm EST on April 30, 2027
• On November 1, reset your account if you have been testing it and set your cash balance to $10,000. Any changes to the cash balance after this reset will disqualify the account from the competition
• Only the cash account performance will be considered for calculating returns during the competition
• Trading may take place in any equity or fixed income security that is available in the cash account – no derivative of any kind may be used
• All ETFs are permitted to be used
• Minimum diversification of 10 securities must be held after the first trading week
• No day trading allowed – minimum holding period of 24 hours for any security
• Monthly rankings will be reported for the following competitions (all calculations done by Webull):
